5 reasons why City will win the premier league this season

Manchester City v/s Manchester United, April 7th. This might be the game, which if won by City, would ensure that they would be Premier League champions. This would be the earliest any team has ever won the Premier League. Decoding City’s dominance there are 5 major causes for their destruction this season.

Cause 1- Pep and his transfers:

Guardiola has made City the team to beat. Tactically improving them, he has also bought players like Sane, Mendy, Bernardo Silva, Laporte and many others. He has also improved City players who were there before his reign started, like Sterling, Delph and Fernandinho. He has made City stronger defensively by drafting in Ederson, Stones and Kyle Walker.

Cause 2- City’s midfield:

Fernandinho, De Bruyne and David Silva. The trio has been excellent this season. Fernandinho has been the link between defence and attack and has won many a tackle. He has also scored some crucial goals. De Bruyne and David Silva have been the creators and destructors. Their class was showcased against Everton when De Bruyne created 1 goal and David Silva created a couple.

Cause 3- City’s bench strength:

City wouldn’t care if their first team was injured. They would still have a stronger second string team than many other clubs’ first teams. A bench consisting of Bravo, Gundogan, Bernardo Silva, Kompany, Laporte, Danilo among others justifies my above statement.

Cause 4- City’s high number of frequent goalscores:

Man City have had a knack of scoring a high number of goals. Sterling, Aguero, Jesus, Sane, David Silva, De Bruyne…. the list is very long. Manchester City have produced goals and goal scores whenever they have wished. Even Otamendi, their prime centre back, has scored 6 premier league goals, showcasing how many goals City score.

Cause 5- Sadio Mane’s red card in GW 4:

Sadio Mane’s high boot on Ederson, which earned him a red, was a very crucial moment. At that time, though City was leading 1-0, Liverpool were looking to threaten a fight back but after Mane was sent off, they lost all their comeback spirit and lost the game 5-0. After this victory, City didn’t look back and won 3 out of their next 4 PL games with 5 goal margins or more as well.

So, as we can see, Manchester City look unstoppable. United, Chelsea and Spurs have to improve their quality of football and squads drastically or it might be another one-sided season next year, just like this one.
